As buying land has become an attractive and cost-effective option for home buyers, The Creig Northrop Team of Long & Foster® announces their expansion into a new division, Land & New Home Sales with Northrop Team member Cindy DelZoppo appointed to head the division. DelZoppo, a 13-year veteran of The Creig Northrop Team, has been selling and developing land for 23 years throughout Maryland. Through this, DelZoppo has built strong relationships with county personnel, contractors, developers, builders, investors, and special use buyers with land and farms throughout Maryland. DelZoppo has strong relationships with many of the area’s top builders, including small, mid-size, and national firms. She also assists first time home buyers, trade-up buyers, active adults, and those interested in purchasing resale homes.
DelZoppo and The Creig Northrop Team have been involved in some of the largest sales in the area, including a total of 44 lots in 2009, some of them above $1 million dollars. DelZoppo brings her experience to help buyers and sellers within the market, to guide them through the complex processes associated with buying land and new construction, including regulations, easements, restrictive covenants, zoning, and timetables.
Now more than ever buyers are opting to purchase land as opposed to purchasing resale homes. Cindy DelZoppo explains, “This is a great time for people to buy land as prices are more affordable than they have been in years. Most regular buyers are not aware of the intricacies that come with buying land and all of the associated regulations that must be met. Land and new construction purchases are very different than buying a resale home. That is where our new division and my expertise come in.”
Alongside the launch of this new division, DelZoppo will also be heading up The Northrop Team’s recently created Builder Resource Center, located at their headquarters at the Clarksville/River Hill, MD location. The Builder Resource Center is a one-stop shop that connects buyers who are interested in purchasing a new home with the builder or developer that best suits their needs. The Builder Resource Center is also a place for builders to promote their communities at no cost. Buyers are able to browse communities and developments, gather information on builders and land for sale, and then be connected with the home builder that is right for them. Throughout the process, visitors to the Builder Resource Center receive expert advice and representation from the nation’s top real estate team. The Northrop Team also advertises the builders’ communities on their website, which attracts millions of hits per month.
“I’m excited to be leading the newly-launched Builder Resource Center,” said DelZoppo. “I am looking forward to helping buyers interested in new construction, and making the process much easier for them. Our Builder Resource Center brings all of the information together in one place, which in the end saves the buyer both time and money.”
Prior to working for The Creig Northrop Team, DelZoppo worked in the private and public sectors as a site engineer and land/use planner, and she also has extensive experience in land acquisition/development and project management spanning 10 years prior to joining the Northrop Team. DelZoppo is anAccredited Buyer Representative (ABR) and Senior Real Estate Specialist.
